He charges $100 a month to mow your lawn every week. Soon, he has too many lawns to mow himself, so he hires a guy to help him. For every $100 he makes, he pays his employee $50 and keeps $50. Soon, he has 10 guys working for him and he is rich.
After that day in class everyone wanted to be in the lawn mowing business. What about landscaping? If you love being out doors and want to do something a little bit more artistic you could potentially start a landscape business. However, is there a market for it in Richmond? Sources say yes.
There are many areas to landscape including residential, schools, parks, streetscapes, civic centers, business centers, golf course etc. The key to success is having a desire to do it. Then you need to understand how to plant and maintain turf, trees, and bedding plants; how to lessen any damage caused by the weather; and, how to create eco-friendly landscaping. Once, you are skilled, choose your niche.
Starting up a company is difficult. You will need financing. Also, you might want to consider buying into a company that already exists. Finally, get your equipment and staff and you should be good to go! Have fun working out doors and doing what you love.
