We have all heard those commercials for 1-800-Dentist. “Call Today,” is their request. They realize that for most people finding a dentist is difficult. There are the horror stories out there, like the girl who left the dentist looking like a chipmunk after her cavities were filled. Unfortunately, finding a dentist is not the only difficult thing people deal with.
What about finding a Richmond mechanic? There are many horror stories out there about a bad experience with a mechanic. That’s just how it is in the car world. So, what can you do to make sure you find a mechanic you can trust to help you deal with those unexpected car problems.
Open your mouth and ask. It is unwise to walk in to a mechanic shop that you have never heard anything about. You have friends. Get their recommendations.
Know the cars symptoms. You would never visit the doctor without knowing your symptoms. The same is true with your car. You need to tell the mechanic what problems you have noticed.
Be patient. It may take some time for the mechanic to figure out what is wrong with your car.
Understand the shop’s policies. They charge for parts, service/labor and have certain guarantees on their work.
